2017/18 College football Opposite Picks: 10-8-2
WEEK #4
IOWA +13.5 vs. Penn St.
That's a BIG # to lay on the road against a quality Iowa team. I know PST
made major grounds last year and hasn't missed a beat this year pitching 2 shutouts
in their 3 games---all wins. But asking a team to win on the road is one thing.
But asking a team to win by 2 touchdowns on the road is something else.
I can't do that. Iowa hasn't lost a home game by 2 touchdowns in 5 years! Also,
Penn St. crushed Iowa last year...Hawkeyes are 19-5-1 ATS seeking revenge for a previous
year's loss inc: 10-0-1 their last 11 games! LOVE getting Iowa +13.5.
OPPOSITE PICK: PENN ST. -13.5

TENNESSEE -28 vs UMASS
Normally I'd stay off a game with a line this high. But I can't help but think
the Vols will be out for blood after losing last week vs. Florida on a Gators
hail mary pass in the final seconds. The Vols & Butch Jones have been getting
killed all week for allowing that to happen.
Tennessee is going to take it out on this pathetic UMASS team which is the biggest
waste of human flesh in football uniforms. UMASS has won only 9 games since it
joined the 1-A level 4 years ago. What about covering you ask?
UMASS is a money burning, time wasting, your bookie will call you 10-17 ATS its
last 27 games inc: 0-4 this year. This team BLOWS. Tennessee is also 16-7 ATS s 20pts
or more favorites against non-SEC teams coming off a loss.
This has 47-0 Tennessee written all over it.
OPPOSITE PICK: UMASS +28

TOLEDO +13 @ Miami
Every year we hear the same thing about Miami. They are great. they are special.
They have this and they have that. blah, blah, blah. But its the same story every year.
They fall flat on their faces and don't come anywhere near their expectations.
This year will be no different. They have NO business being a near 2 touchdown favorite over
the best team in the MAC. Toledo already has a nice win over a decent Tulsa team.
They've put up 37,47,54pts in starting the season 3-0. Miami meanwhile hasn't played in 3 weeks because of the hurricane situation. They HAVE to be rusty. And that's not good because they
are only 2-10 ATS with at least 1 week's rest. Toledo not only covers this game.
I think they can win this outright. LOVE Toledo getting 13pts.
OPPOSITE PICK: MIAMI -13

VANDERBILT +18.5 vs. Alabama
I'm not saying Vandy is winning this game. But I do believe they will cover.
Why not as they are 9-2 ATS as 15pts or more underdogs.
For all of Alabama's merits under Nick Saban, one thing they are not is a good
road team with the boys in Vegas...9-9 ATS their lst 18 true road games.
Why? Their lines are inflated. BIV know everyone bets ON them so the put the lines a
couple of points higher than they ought to be. This is
another example as this Vandy team isn't bad. They beat a darn good Kansas St. team
last week holding it to just 7pts. In fact, Vandy has allowed just 13pts TOTAL in
three games this year! Now you're giving me 18.5? This is too easy. LOVE Vandy
getting 18.5pts.
OPPOSITE PICK: ALABAMA -18.5

ARMY +2.5 @ Tulane
BIV made Tulane a favorite? Haha...clearly they have a sense of humor this week.
Asking Tulane to win a football game is like asking my wife to cook. It's not happening.
Green Wave is just 8-33 their last 41 games against real 1-A teams.
Now they're a favorite? But they are at home "you say?" So what "I say."
They are 4-11 their last 15 home games so if you think you're getting any kind of homefield advantage forget it. Plus, key stat from our boy Marc Lawrence. Army rushes for nearly
350yards a game. So you ask? Well, Tulane is 6-49 when they allow teams to rush for 200+yds
per game! Plus, Army's 2-1 this year with 16 starters back from last year's 8-5 team
which was 5-3 on the road. Army wins easily over pathetic Tulane.
OPPOSITE PICK: TULANE -2.5

AIR FORCE +3 vs. San Diego St.
This has got absolute CLASSIC letdown written all over it. SDST is coming off back
to back emotional wins over Arizona St. & Stanford. Now they play at Air Force.
Great teams can't keep the emotion up for 3 straight weeks never mind clubs like
SDST. No way can they be pumped up for this game. AF may have slipped a bit over the
last year or two, but they hung tough with Michigan last week and they are a terrific
18-2 their last 20 home games inc: 5-0 ATS as home dogs. They are more than
capable of winning this game at home...and now I'm getting 3pts to boot! LOVE AF.
OPPOSITE PICK: SAN DEIGO ST. -3

NEBRASKA -12 vs. Rutgers
What is this? Is this possible? Have the BIV gone bonkers? Nebraska is a less than
two touchdown home favorite over Rutgers. Rutgers? The same team that got crushed
49-0 by Michigan St. last year....58-0 to Ohio St. last year and who can forget that
famous 78-0 effort they put forth against Michigan last year. What about this year you ask?
They lost two weeks ago to Eastern stinking Michigan...at home! Now they are suppose
to hang with mighty Nebraska? Johnny Rogers, IM Hipp, Irving Fryer, Tommie Frazier, Roger Craig, Endomican Suh & of course the great Vince Ferregamo have to be rolling over in their graves if they are dead or wishing they were after looking at this line. Nebraska is going to KILL Rutgers.
OPPOSITE PICK: RUTGERS +12

UTEP +19 @ New Mexico St.
I had to do a double, triple and quadruple check when I saw this line. New Mexico St...
the biggest waste of human flesh in football uniforms is not only a favorite, not only
a d/d favorite, but a near THREE touchdown favorite? Are you kidding me? This hasn't
happened since the Eisenhower administration. I know UTEP stinks...I get it. But I wouldn't make god awful, pathetic NMST a 3 TD favorite over Topeka high. Oh, by the way did you know
Did you know NWMST had won only 11 games over the last 5 seasons heading into this year.
Did you know this is a rivalry game as the schools are less than an hour apart? Did you know UTEP has beaten New Mexico St. EIGHT straight times. Did you know UTEP has won those games by an
average of nearly 17pts a game with 7 of the wins coming by double digits. You would have
to be the biggest You would have to be the biggest bird brain, butt head, bozo, bum, buffoon, clutz, clod, clown, dim-wit, halfwit, dolt, dope, fool, quack, ninny, nerd, numbskull, schlep, schmoe, jerk, jackass in the world to put American $$ New Mexico St. laying 19.
OPPOSITE PICK: NEW MEXICO ST. -19
