DEBUNKING THE GAME 6 BUCKNER MYTH
1. Red Sox already lost the lead. Game was tied 5-5 thanks to a Bob Stanley wild pitch.
2. Series was tied at 3 after loss. Mets did NOT win the WS w/ this game.
Boston led blew a 3-0 lead in Game 7 as well.
3. Red Sox blew 2-0 & 3-2 leads in Game 6 as well as the 5-3 lead in the 10th.
4. Buckner wouldn't have beaten Mookie Wilson to the bag anyway.
5. Buckner had a chance in the T8...but flew out to end the inning with the bases loaded. Sox up 3-2
6. Calvin Schiraldi was left in for a 3rd inning of relief to start the 10th.
7. Roger Clemens begs out of game leading 3-2 after 7 innings allowing just 4 hits.
8. Dave Henderson could've gone down as a Red Sox hero...hits HR to tie game vst the Angels in the ALCS down 2-games to none. Also hits a solo HR in the 10th that could've been the game winner if not for the Mets rally.
